Baby mittens? How long do you let your baby wear mittens? I mean until how many months then you stop wearing mittens for your baby? My baby is 11 weeks and still wearing mittens when she is sleeping. I have tried taking out the mittens when she sleeps but she ended up scratching her face. I have cuther finger nails every week but she still scratches her face if without mittens. So now I only remove her mittens when she is not sleeping and I am around to stop her from scratching.

Does wearing baby mittens delay baby's hands coordination? I was told to keep my son's hands in baby mittens at all times. Now he's 2 and 1/2 months and has not tried to reach out or grab things with his hands. He can only bat them around uncontrollably. Is this normal?

baby in mittens 24/7? My brother and sister-in-law are having thier 5 week old baby in mittens all the time. It's been this way since he was born. Even in their house, he's constantly in mittens. I'm just wondering what the consequences are of them doing this? They say it's because he'll scratch his face otherwise and they won't tell me how long they're going to continue to do this. They live in south Florida so it's not like it's freezing. (They also keep him in a hat, long sleeves, long pants and socks at all times because they say that babies like to be very warm.)

Baby no-scratch mittens recalled? I've been slowly buying items for my diaper bag lately, so I went to Walmart a couple days ago and picked up a pair of no-scratch mittens. When I got to the register the cashier/manager told me she couldn't sell them to me because they'd been recalled. So I started searching online for the recall and haven't came up with anything. They were Child of Mine, by Carter's. Anyone else hear about this? I also started looking for other brands, thinking it was just that pair or something, and the only other scratch-mittens (by Gerber) that I found on the Walmart website a couple days ago, have now also been removed...what's going on? I know I could just go to a different site and find a pair, but now I'm worried there's something wrong with them in general...

Used mitten tablet water to make baby formula. Are there any serious issues in that ? Hi Friends, I have a 2 days old girl. By mistake I used the mitten tablet water (used for stirlization) to make the baby formula and gave her 2 feeds of 20ml each. The baby has been alright with no affects at all. Did you have to use hand socks/mittens with your baby to prevent face scratches? My son is 3 months old and i cut and manicure his nails all the time (i use baby nail clippers, and then file them) but they grow back in even sharper each time and i can't seem to get them short enough that when he grabs his face ( which he does a lot when he is tired ) he leaves scratches on his face! I have went to using "hand socks" on him at night when i really can't prevent him from doing it. Did you have to use these or do you have a way to keep them short enough that he won't have to wear them? Which month/week did you actually start getting things for your baby that you were/are expecting? I delivered my son 7yrs ago and right after completing my 4th month, i started shopping bit by bit for him. Everyday i would go for a small walk and collect things like booties, mittens, changing mats etc. I collected them one by one as i went for walking everyday and loved doing that bit of shopping every day for my baby.All the other major things i purchased when i went for a big shopping with my husband. I even packed my baby's bag when i was just 30weeks.Now i am pregnant again and i am in my 24th week and ive already collected some decent amount of things for my baby. I am just curious to know what yall did/do.I mean in which month/week did you start your shopping & what are all the things that you had already got for that little bundle of joy of yours? :-) I am all excited and just looking at all those tiny stuffs... be it in internet pictures or in the shops. Dressing baby for sleep in cold climates? Its -27 celcius here (-16 F) I have been dressing our 9 week old in a sleeper and a quilted sleep sack for night, and I put mittens on his hands because they do get a little chilly. His nursery is showing 20Celcius (68 F). My parents and hubby think this is to chilly for little man. Is this to cold for him? What else should I do to keep him warmer if it is? He feels warm when I go get him from the nursery to feed .

When to wash the baby clothes? 29 weeks now? hi there, im done with my baby clothes shopping and i just have to buy a couple of towels and baby sheets to wrap the baby. im almost 29 weeks pregnant just another day short of it. i was wondering when to start washing the baby clothes. i have only been putting them away after buying them. also do u wash mittens and socks as well? thanks alot.

My baby is sleeping in Yaolan but I have encounter something which is worrying me.? He tends to put his hands (with mittens on) on his nose while he is sleeping. Will that hinder his breathing? He is just 1mth+ old. Yaolan is Sarong rocker. The mittens are used to prevent him from scratching

What can I use on my baby's face? Is 3 months too early for cereal? My daughter is 11 weeks old. She has to wear mittens on her hands when she goes to sleep because she scratches her face when she wakes up. Well, she also rubs her face really hard which has caused her cheeks to turn rough and look like they are burned. I have been using pure shea butter but that doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions on what I can use to keep her skin soft and heel her cheeks? My second question is, can I give her a little bit of cereal in her milk for her night bottle to help her with her sleeping. All of my family members tell me my breast milk is so thin and that is why she doesn't stay sleep at night. They think her hunger wakes her up. I was going to wait until she was 4 months. Is 3 months ok, (She will be 3 months next week). Thanks for any suggestions.

How many skeins do I use for an afghan? it's like a yarn over one. The book I got from the library said only one and I didn't think it was right. Any other places for good knitting patterns? When knitting, if my needles arnt big enough how can i alter my gauge for this pattern? Im making some baby mittens and it tells me to use #6 needles for newborn size. Im only a starter knitter and only have size 3 3/4 needles at the moment. The pattern tells me to cast on 20 stitches, but how can i alter my gauge so the pattern ends up the correct size? I think i should cast on more stitches shouldnt i? but how many more please? Hope sum1 can help, thanks.

My 8 week old baby is constantly rubbing her face. Is this normal? We put little mittens on her and when she rubs her face it turns all red. It used to last for only an hour but now it seems that she has baby acne and the rubbing is making it worse. Is she rubbing because it is itchy or is it out of habit?

Baby Boys Finger Nails help? I feel like everyday I am chewing my going on 4 months baby boys finger nails. He scratched his face pretty bad yesterday ( must have know we have yet more pictures booked in to be taken tom. night lol) when I went to my friends house she is like "Oh dont you keep his nails short" I just wanted to scream I do them every day to every second day I chew them as I dont feel comfrtable using the baby clippers and mittens dont work as they get wet from being in his mouth, he wriggles and starts to cry when I gently chew them anyone have any ideas how to make it fun and keep his nails short in the process?? (If only my nails grew this fast lol)

Stop baby scratching the face? I got a 6 months old baby, he has eczema on his face since 2 months old. We tried everything, the cortisone cream help but the eczema came back after we stop using it. Now he is 6 months old, we try not to wrap him in sleep but his "free" hands continue to scratch his face during sleep. We put mittens on his hands and it wipes all the creams we put on his face. Now the ecezma is getting worse. Any one know how I can stop this ?

These are basic things I do everyday. It's not about being worried about what I look like. I also have to use lipgloss constantly because I have huge lips that will dry out and crack. I have this Loreal Feel Naturale creme foundation that is good for my skin (helps with acne) and takes half a second to apply after I put lotion on my face. I want to feel good and I don't if I don't do these basic things.

3 Month old daughter keeps scratching her face despite us keeping her nails short as possible and filing them? What else can we do to keep our baby girl from scratching her face? Can you help with mittens? I baby sit my granddaughters. I take the four year old to pre school twice a week and pick her up a few hours later taking her 20 mo. old sister with us. 8 month old sleeping with mittens on? It is getting pretty cold where I live. When I pick my son up in the morning he hands are so cold.
